Tommy stretches like this often. I usually laugh because I think he looks silly but mom thinks he looks cute and manly. Don't tell mom, but this is the way he scratches the couch.

Another Hiding Place
One of my favorite places to nap is on the shelf with all the soft clean place mats. My mom really doesn't like it cuz then she has to wash the place mats all over again. Once I get up into the cubby it's so nice and comfy and I just love it. I think mom should get a clean baby blanket and spread it over the stuff she doesn't want my white fur on and then we'd both be happy.

Feathers
Hi Tommy here. I told mom that the baby birds flew yesterday mid-day. I saw their feathers flapping and were two of them. Nevertheless, she still didn't want to let me and Shilgiah out on our balcony until she is absolutely certain there are not more in the nest. By then the parents might lay some more eggs and then it will be another squillion years before we can go out!
As a compensation mom bought Shilgiah and me big playballs with feathers on them. Not nearly as good as being able to go out on the balcony.

My Favorite Picture
I didn't feel like being wordless today. This is my very favorite picture of me and my park. It was the first picture I put up on my blog after William's mom help my mom figure out how to put pictures up. I can almost smell the air out there. I love my park but I'm glad I found my mom and she let me be her forever cat rather than all alone in the park with coyotes running through early-thirty in the morning.

Lazy Weekend
Mostly I just laid around this weekend. Sunspots were abundant and I just felt like snoozing and occasionally just thinking deep kitty thoughts. Tommy wanted to play chase a couple of times. The baby birds are still being lazy too cuz they haven't poked their little heads out yet but the momma and dad are increasing their visits to the nest so I think they may be trying to fatten the babies up so they will get strong enough to fly away to the trees soon. Hope everybody had a good weekend.

Tommy's Turn
Shilgiah said I can have a turn to blog. Thanks sis. I am really miffed that mom won't let us out on the balcony to sniff the air and listen to the baby birds right close. I've asked politely but she still seems to think that we will scare the momma bird and traumatize her babies. So all I can do is stand by the balcony door and beg and whine. Mom says that's not going to help me.
As soon as the baby birds have taken flight then mom says she'll let us out on the balcony again. I hope those babies hurry up and get enough feathers and strength to fly soon.

Springtime on my Mind
Well, lots of snow flakes fell on Saturday for what seemed like hours. I decided to take a nap and dream about how much fun the park is in the springtime with little bugs to chase and baby birds learning to fly.
I love the feel of green grass on my tummy. It feels almost as good as warm clothes right out of the dryer.
Update on the baby birds: They are still just snuggled up in their nest. We heard a little peeping Sunday morning but I think it's gonna take at least another week before they start thinking about poking their heads out. Mom isn't letting us out on the balcony anymore for awhile so the momma bird won't freak out. Tommy is very unhappy about not getting to go out and sniff the air.

Excitment
Aside from the buggies and moths and other fun flying stuff that comes into our balcony, I have finally spotted the bird nest under the eaves of the balcony.
Here, I'm looking at a moth but not far away, just on the other side of our screened in balcony is a nest. We've listened and listened but haven't heard the babies yet. I think they were still eggs until yesterday. I first noticed the parent birds coming near the eaves some time ago and I told my mom about it but she couldn't see where the nest might be. But just yesterday we all saw the mother bird coming in and out several times. I think maybe her babies have hatched. I talked to Tommy about how birds are our friends not food but I don't think he quite understands. This morning mom let us out on the balcony cuz it was still dark and wouldn't scare the momma bird but then I heard something and got all excited cuz I think I heard the babies. Our mom made us come in so we wouldn't frighten the momma bird if she was trying to leave the nest this early. I'll keep you posted as our bird babies grow.

Five Reasons Why I Blog
Sorry it's been so long since I blogged. Mom has been busy lately that she hasn't let me blog. Munchin, Missy and Monte as well as William tagged me so here are my reasons why I blog.
1. So the world can see how very very beautiful I am. Mom says I'm a tad egocentric. How could I be when I don't even know what that is.
2. So I'll have something to do at five o'clock in the morning that doesn't involve chasing my brother through the house.
3. So I can get ideas from other cats in the world about how to get my mom to do the things I want. Like buying me more toys.
4. So my mom can get more proficient at taking beautiful pictures (especially of me).
5. So my brother Tommy will have a venue to discuss how wonderful his big sister is and why he loves her so so much.
