Winter Morning Sun

I love sitting in the living room in the morning and waiting and watching for birds to come by and stop at the little aspen tree nearby. There are a few birds beginning to make a racket in the morning already so I suspect that lots will come in the springtime. Even though I do miss my old patio, the vista up here on the third floor makes me kind of feel like I'm one of the birds.

Bird Friends

O.K. so these are my Bird Friends from last Spring when we lived at our old place near my park. I'm starting to make new bird friends here at our new place but I don't have any pictures of them yet and I still miss my old bird friends so thought I'd post a picture of them. They were so much fun to talk with and watch.
Looky up on the branch. This is a Cooper's Hawk from last year. He was right outside our front porch. I think he might have been Warren. Warren's family build a nest summer before last in a tall tree about twenty minutes from here at William's house. I think Warren came to visit me at my old place last year. Anyway, I told him not to even think about eating my bird friends on the back patio because in our family "Birds are friends, not food".

Feeling Sad

My sweetie pea, Eddie died on Sunday. He was William and Olivia and Caroline's brother. I first met Eddie and his sister Sophie a long long long time ago before I found my mom when I was an orphan. Now that I have a brother, I understand how sad William and his sisters must feel and mom told me how sad Eddie's mom must feel and read me William's blog entry. So many people and kitties love William and his family. Mom and me and Tommy are sending purrs, head-butts and warm thoughts to William and his family.

Valentines Day Snow Storm

It snowed yesterday a lot in the morning and then the sun came out in the late afternoon. See the balcony above the little pine tree. That's my balcony off our study. I love our balcony but Tommy loves it more. Happy Valentines Day (yesterday) to all the cats in the world and especially my Sweetie Pea Eddie.

Morning Excercise

Every morning we hug each other and then excercise by running through the house and hugging each other some more. Mom calls this fighting and tells us to be "nice" to each other. Do any of you have trouble convincing your people that what looks like fighting sometimes is just fun?

When does asking become whining?

Every morning right after breakfast Tommy goes in to the study and over to the balcony doors and does this. He trys to open to door himself but since mom is the only one of us who has thumbs he is never very successful.
Then he stands up very very tall and says "Please, Please, Please, Please, Please let me on the balcony". Mom says "Not until Shilgiah has finished blogging" because mom has to watch him. You see, the balcony has a screen across the top part but it's kind of flimsy and once upon a time Tommy saw a bird fly by real close and he jumped straight up to try to catch the bird and made two big scratchy gashes in the flimsy screen. Mom just doesn't want either of us falling off the third floor balcony so she has to be right there when we sniff the fresh outside air. Tommy shouldn't whine about that because mom is just trying to keep us safe.

Some of My Favorite Things

This is my toy basket. I'm very generous about sharing my toys with Tommy most of the time. But sometimes he slobbers and bites my toys until they are almost ruined. See the Red Chili toy in the upper right hand corner? Well, this is the second Red Chili toy he has slobbered and bitten to death. I need to know how to stop him from doing such stuff. If any of you out there has a sibling who slobbers and bites your toys let me know your solutions to this dilema. Thanks...and have a great weekend.

Touching Toes on Tuesday

Not much to say today so I think I'll just snooze and dream happy cat dreams.

Beauty Treatment

One of the reasons my fur stays so beautiful and white these days is that Tommy insists on grooming me. Not that I really mind. Actually, I recommend this type of beauty treatment to all you female felines out there.
