Just because you are dieting...we should suffer!

Hanukkah is over. The menorah has been put away. The dreidles have gone back to the driedle bag where they stay until next year. Mom told us last night that Hanukkah is now over and it's time to diet. I went and hid under the bed. You see, every year our mom goes back to her healthy (pronounced "Yucky") eating habits right after the Cholesterol Festival of Hanukkah.

You won't believe what mom did to Tommy. She opened the refrigerator and Tommy was right there waiting for something good to eat. We had already had our supper but sometimes during Holiday's we get other treats and sometimes people food. But Tommy had forgotten that the Holiday was over now(short term memory problems, I guess). Mom got a little pyrex dish down from the cupboard and put a spoonful or two of some white stuff in there. I, being the smarter sister, wasn't buying into the trick. I came out to take a peak and tried to warn Tommy...

Hey, Tommy! Do you know what that is?!

Tommy was half way done before I could get it out..."It's Cottage Cheese!!" Yucky...Yucky...Yucky!!! Guess my brother will eat anything!?

Happy Almost New Year Every One!!

Dreidle Games

Here is a picture of me coaching Tommy on the finer points of playing dreidle. It's very important to get gimmel (a letter on one of the four sides) because then you win.

People usually play for chocolate gelt but we play for temptations treats! I, Shilgiah the Huntress, am the gimmel champ of the cat kingdom!!

The Second Night of Hanukkah

Every night we add one more candle and watch from a safe distance of course. Tommy and I both like to watch the candles when we are not busy playing dreidle. Really, we play dreidle...maybe we'll show you tomorrow.

Mom, why are there three candles when it's only the second night?

That's a very good question, Tommy! That's because the taller candle is the Shamash, the helper candle we use to light all the other candles.

Tommy's Turn

Hi! Tommy here. I want to clarify my sister's misrepresentation of my grocery sack adventure that occurred a couple of weeks ago. My sister seems to think it was very funny, however; if I wasn't such a manly cat I might well have become traumatized. Oh, and the evil grocery sack that caught me around the neck was one of those green cloth grocery sacks like the one shown a few entries ago. I'm way too scared (but in a manly way) of plastic sacks to ever attempt to get into one of them...Eeeek!

The other day I was resting in one of the dresser drawers because mom had left it open and it was there just waiting for someone my size to climb in. Mom turned around from looking in the closet and laughed at me! She said I was too big to fit. I beg to differ! I fit just fine...Thank you very much!

Oh, and then I got up on the kitchen table so I could have a better look at my inanimate bird friend Woody. After petting him on the beak mom walked in and said "You are not allowed to play up on the table, Tommy". Huh? Who's house is this anyway? I'm pretty sure my sister and I own the place.

Mom has been busy getting ready for Hanukkah and sewing nip pillows for some of our friends, so, we still haven't had enough time to come and visit all our blogging buddies. We asked mom if she could make enough nip pillows for all the cats in the blogosphere and she said that we have to limit our gift giving to relatives and special in town friends and mom wants to give some nip pillows to foster cats and to cats who are at the shelter.

I'm Back!!!

Wow! Aunt A fixed mom's computer just for me so that I could start blogging again. She's the most wonderful Aunt in the entire world!

There are about a million things that have happened since I last posted but I'll just tell you about a couple of them.
1. It's been very cold and it's snowed and mom is all happy because it means she might get to ski sometime before too long. As for me, I much prefer snuggling up in between the pillows on mom's bed.
2. Two weeks ago Tommy was trying to climb into one of the empty grocery sacks and got the handle caught around his neck and got scared and started running through the house with the grocery sack flying behind him like a parachute and mom "calmly" trying to slow him down so she could extricate him from the sack. I just sat there and laughed he looked so silly.

Tommy and I will try to stop by your blogs as soon as we can and catch up on all the things you folks have been up to lately. See you soon.

We Haven't Vanished

Unfortunately, mom isn't nearly as smart as we thought. Since we last posted stating that mom had fixed our problem with Mozilla Firefox we have had nothing but more and more and more troubles. Sooooooo, until mom decides to bring in someone with actual technological expertise, we will be unable to blog much if at all.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Late Afternoon Sunstripes

Well, for the past several days mom has been trying to get my computer to work and was told at one point that Mozilla Firefox had crashed. Then she thought that she would have to call a repair man or get me a new computer or worst of all go without...Eeeek! So, this afternoon when mom got home from doing whatever it is she does when she is not catering to my needs, I went into my playroom (a.k.a. mom's study) and jumped up next to the computer and asked as sweetly as possible for mom to keep trying to fix my computer. And you know what! She fixed it! I am so proud of her...she did a good job. Apparently, Mozilla Firefox just needed to be told to update and then it got fixed. Now, mind you we are still on dial up and I don't think I can talk my mom into the 21st century until next July. She's promised to think about it then.

This is Tommy looking out the balcony door one afternoon. I'm out on the balcony where you can't see me...catching a fly. I'm very helpful.

Sunday Shopping

Our mom goes grocery shopping on Sunday. That's usually when she brings home extra treats for us and every once in awhile she brings us a big box with a white kitty on the outside and inside it is filled with Fancy Feast cans. The crunchy Wellness Indoor formula designed to "build lean muscle mass" she gets from our special cat food and toy place. We have yet to develop that "lean muscle mass".

Hey Tommy, have you found any treats in there yet?

Evidently, there weren't any good treats in there but it is quite a comfy napping spot.

Let me in there! I'm pretty sure I smell Temptations Treats.

Hope you all have a wonderful week to come!

Pictures... Way After My Birthday

Wow! My Mom just spent 35 minutes getting two of my birthday pictures to this point. I think mom should have gotten me a new operating system or a really good technical person to help me do this blog rather than the toys and stuff I got!

O.k. Now, I really do love the toys mom got me. And I even share with Tommy who especially seems to like the funky looking dog face with the funny floppy blue ears. Nevertheless, I'm really getting tired of not being able to blog much cuz it takes mom fifty thousand hours to put a post up for me!!!

One present I would not want to trade for a computer technician or a new operating system is this! Know what it is? It fresh CATNIP!!! Both Tommy and I love love love it! Hum...I wonder if in our nipped out state we accidentally screwed up our blog site stuff...Naaah...It's mom...she needs to hire a technical assistant or five.

Got to go now before this thing implodes...eeeek!!

Birthdays... Birthdays... Birthdays

September 17th was my brother Tommy's 5th Birthday. October 1st, this Wednesday, will be my 8th Birthday. Tonight begins Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, which according to our mom is by legend called "The Birthday of the World". When I asked how old the world was mom said the Jewish Calendar says this year begins 5769 but really the world is billions of years old. I had started to feel very old the last few days but now that I know the world is very very very very much older, I feel like a young kitty again.

Happy Birthday World! Happy New Year!

And to all cats and people everywhere, L'Shanah Tovah U'Metukah, which means May you have a Good and Sweet New Year.

Your friends,
Shilgiah, Tommy and our Mom

Tommy Was Five on Wednesday

Wednesday the 17th of September was Tommy's Fifth Birthday! He has been with mom and me for two years now. The V.E.T. guessed he was about 3 years old when he found us.

So, on Wednesday morning, mom gave us Tuna Juice for breakfast and said she would bring Tommy a surprise home for his birthday dinner. After what seemed like ten or eleven thousand hours mom brought home some Mac and Jack (Skipjack and Mackerel) our favorite kind of soft kitty food that we hardly ever get because it costs lots of monies. We both got some for supper that night. Mom also bought Tommy some new fresh kitty grass and he has been very generous and lets me share it with him.

I'm glad Tommy is my brother.

No Bears in Sight

Reconnecting with nature is nice as long as there are no bears. Our mom went on a walk with some friends on top of her favorite mountain where she likes to ski in the wintertime. At one point in the walk she heard something in the undergrowth near the path. Suddenly, from the other side of a tree two young squirrels appeared and were romping and chasing each other all over the hillside.

I would have had fun playing chase with the squirrels if mom had let me come along! I probably would have climbed some of the trees too.

Timout is No Fun

Hi everyone, this is Tommy and I want to tell you about an awful thing my mom did to me. She called it time out! It is very very bad! She got mad because I was just putting Shilgiah in her place and letting her know who is (or at least should be) the boss around here. How I do this is by kind of meowing loud and coming up to her and biting her on the back. It's a game called "Say Uncle". Now, it's important to know I don't break any skin. I just put my teethies around the fur near her neck and just stand there until she cries "uncle". Of course, all my mom hears is Shilgiah's pitiful kitty cry. So mom got really mad and said it was time for me to go on a time out.

So, she put me in the bedroom and closed the door. I could feel under the door and Shilgiah came up and told me she was sorry she made such a ruckus about my playing "Say Uncle". Finally, mom opened the door and asked if I was ready to be a good kitty.

I'm not sure...I think I may need to stay here for awhile longer.

Timeless Mom Time

On Friday when mom got home from work she took off her watch, sighed and said "I'm not putting this thing back on for three whole days!" It has been a wonderful restful time with our mom.

Doing my part to help mom stay timeless, or at least watchless.

Did I read it--Watch It--Or Both--Or Neither

Wolfie, a very cute white rat of The Fluffy Tribe, tagged Me and Tommy and Mom to do a meme.

This picture is from a long time ago but you can see that Tommy likes to watch TV. In the last post, you may notice that he also enjoys a good book.

Anyway, the instructions for the meme are as follows: "Copy the list below. Mark in bold the movie titles for which you read the book. Italicize the ones you've watched. Then tag five people to perpetuate the meme."

O.K...Obviously, Tommy, my mom and I haven't been going to movies or watching t.v. much or reading many of the same books. However, of all those books above, my mom says she thinks the most important for everyone to read, think and talk about is 1984. Welcome to our world...Eeeek!! it's Double-Speak!!

Now, I'm supposed to pick five friends and their families to do this same meme. If you would rather walk on shards of glass that do this, please feel free to skip it. However, I pick--Fat Eric and his family, Abby Normal and her family, Parker and her family, Scooby and his family and last but not least Derby and his family.

Have a wonderful week all!

Just Helping

Honest, I was just trying to help. It has been very very hot until this weekend, so when mom came home Friday with some Fancy Feast and Ice Cream, I just wanted to be helpful. The fancy feast was fine but it was clear that the ice cream was leaking down the sides of the carton. Mom cleaned the sides off and then opened the top to get some of the excess melting part out so it wouldn't leak any more. While she was turning around to get a scoop or something, I thought it would be very nice if I jumped up and helped her keep the ice cream from leaking out more. I hadn't helped her like this since we had lived in our old house. I think she was quite surprised that I could jump up and be so helpful.

Mmmm...and it's "no sugar added" to help me keep my girlish figure!

Peace Talks

This week Tommy and I have done considerable talking about how to live more peacefully together. Our negotiations have gone well and we have jointly agreed that I will stop biting his butt fur in exchange for him not pushing me away from my special curl-up-near-mom's-head space on the bed. There were several other minor concessions we each made to the other but I am just too tired to talk about them right now.

At Peace. Sure wish people could find peace for themselves and the world as easily as we cats.

Oh Brother

Last night my brother Tommy really bugged me. It happened in the middle of the night. I was curled up next to mom's head purring ever so sweetly and being careful not to awaken her. Tommy, the perpetual suck-up, jumped up on the bed and pushed me aside by squeezing his 20lb body between me and mom. Then he curled up where I had been and did his OH SO LOUD BIG BOY PURR (which sounds something akin to a defective lawn mower) right in mom's ear. Of course, this woke mom up but all she said was..."What a sweet big boy"!!

He looks so innocent, doesn't he?

If any of you cats out there can think of some way I could get even with him for being so pushy and for getting more attention from mom than me please let me know.

Typical

Until recently, we've seemed to have quite atypical weekends what with mom rescuing calico kitties, mom studying and preparing for trainings she has recently taught or is about to teach and mom going to bed early and getting up early, even on weekends! It was wearing us out and stressing us out not having the typical mom time like we love and need.

But this weekend was typical. Mom slept late both days and she brushed me and Tommy and even gave us extra snacks. So, we spent the weekend doing all the typical things we like to do. Ahhh, All is back to normal!

We spent some time wrestling.

Then we spent some time napping.

Then I brushed my own face while mom brushed the parts that are harder for me to brush on my own.

It was a very nice normal weekend. Hope you all had nice weekends and a wonderful week to come.

Monsoon Season

It's been kind of rainy here. I like it as long as the flashie-boomie stuff doesn't accompany the rainy stuff. This is good for the high desert and will not only make the trees and other flora happy but also the birdies, deer, bears, coyotes and other fauna to be happy too.

This is the view from our front window.

Have a great week everyone!

It Works!

Feels like it's been three thousand naps since I've been able to blog! Mom finally found out what was wrong and Aunt A helped talk mom through the fix. Thanks Aunt A!

Just working on my tan. He he he.

Our Internet Connection is Broken

I tried off and on all day yesterday to post. For some reason I couldn't make a connection and still couldn't this morning. Something wrong with Mozilla Firefox or the computer doesn't recognize something. Mom said she would post this message for me at work. We'll try to get it up and running again as soon as we can.

Hope all of you have a great week!

Pictures of Eva

To recapitulate the last couple of posts, our mom helped neighbors rescue a little calico girl who had been a stray for some time. She was finally found up in a tree last Sunday morning. After taking her to the vet where she got poked and prodded and some shots and blood taken from her to test, she came home and rested up in our study. We couldn't play with her because mom said we had to wait for test results to make sure she was not contagious with anything. Next mom called some of the no-kill rescue societies she knows to see if they could provide a foster family while helping to find the little calico girl a forever home. Mom said we couldn't keep her because we were only allowed by the apartment complex to have two cats. Before long, mom got a phone call from a nice lady from PACA who said she could take the little calico girl. Next day mom took the little calico girl (who didn't have a name yet) to meet the new foster mom who was very nice. More happy news was that the vet called and let mom know that the little girl's blood test results were negative for any bad stuff. The next evening the foster lady called and told us that she and her daughter had named the little calico girl Eva. We are happy that Eva has a nice foster home and will soon find a forever family.

Her Name is Eva

Update on the little furball my mom rescued and who stayed in our study for a short while. The little calico kitty is now in a nice foster home. The lady from the foster home called to let our mom know that she and her daughter had named the little kitty Eva. What a perfect name for the little furball! This foster family will take care of her until she is adopted by a wonderful forever family.

Oh and the VET from VCA called and let my mom know that the little calico girl's blood tests were negative. Mom says that's good and that it means she's healthy.

One other piece of news is that Eva is going to be "fixed" today at the VET. That's so hard having two big visits to the VET in four days! I can hardly stand going once a year. So, we are sending warm and healing thoughts to Eva the little calico girl. Mom took some pictures of her before she went to the foster home and we will share them soon.

Can't Blog Right Now

Hello again Every cat,
There is a visitor hold up in our study, so mom says we can't go in there and blog for a little while. The visitor is of the feline variety and is a little calico (6 lbs and about 6 months) and mom and some neighbors are trying to find a foster home through one of the no kill pet groups in town. Mom found the little fur ball stuck up a tree yesterday. Neighbors had said they had seen her all on her own for a couple of months and mom had seen her for a couple of weeks from time to time. Anyway, mom took her to VCA and they checked her out and she got shots and blood tests. She seems in good health according to the VET but won't know if she is totally o.k. until the blood tests come back. In the meantime, the little cat has to stay away from us. So, mom put the little fur ball in our study and got her her own little litter box and fixed her a little bed. Tommy and I will keep you posted when we can.

Take Care friends and Have a Great Week!
You friends Shilgiah and Tommy

Mom is Not Really a Big Meanie

Hi Every Cat,
Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions on ridding our lives of the evil blue and green balls. Especially we liked the idea of putting mom's food in there and of throwing up on the evil balls.

Mom told me last night that I was being overly dramatic about our food plight and I needed to explain that she was Not Really the Big Meanie that I portrayed her to be in the last blog.

Yes, we still have the evil blue ball and the evil green ball but the truth is mom feeds us our soft Fancy Feast food just like always and our Crunchy Wellness food is put in our black porcelain bowls at night time before she goes to sleep.

It's just during the day time while mom is away hunting that she now picks up our black porcelain crunchy food bowls and tells us that we need to get daytime food from our evil blue and green balls.

One other clarification. The food spitting evil balls really have three different sizes of hole in them and can be adjusted (by anyone with opposable thumbs) to any of the three sizes. Mom has ours adjusted to the biggest hole that lets out about ten or twenty crunchies at one whack (if it's a pretty hard whack).

So we really aren't being mistreated. Mom just doesn't want us to overeat, like someone, let's call him Tommy, tends to do.

Mom's going to be gone on a work "retreat" the rest of this week from Wednesday early thirty until Friday evening but a nice person and friend is coming to take care of us and Mom promises we will have our black porcelain bowls filled all the time while she is gone and has instructions to give us extra treats whenever we ask for them.

Thanks again for your comments,
Shilgiah and Tommy

The Evil Blue Ball

Here is the evil blue ball *shudder* that I said I would tell you about. It looks innocent enough doesn't it? Inside it has crunchies. Sounds good. Right? Now, here's the rub. This evil blue ball is supposed to replace our wonderful black porcelain kitty bowls that are filled every morning with Wellness Indoor Kitty Food. Our mom began using the blue ball last weekend and even bought another green one. So we now have two evil balls!! Each ball can fit 2/3rds of a cup of kitty food. That's how much we usually eat but really!! The indignity!! What is she thinking!!! We have to hunt for our food now?!?! I think not!!!

So, this evil blue ball and it's brother green ball (not shown here), came with instructions. Oh, the evil blue and green balls are made by a company in Canada called "Multivet International Inc" and the ball is called "SlimCat". Inside the pamphlet, which is written in six languages, for meowing out loud, is the following introduction:
"The idea behind the "SlimCat"(Tm) ball is to distribute an adjustable quantity of food to your cat through his interaction with the ball. An enriched environment and proper feeding habits are Slimcat's ultimate goal. Being in good mental and physical health will reduce your cat's undesirable behaviors."

What are they talking about?! "Undesirable Behaviors??!!" We nap, we play, we have toys...lots and lots of toys. Why do we need to chase those evil food balls all over the place to get a nibble or two! This is really unfair!

We have been trying to think what to do to rid the house of these evil food spitting balls, but so far, the best we've come up with is to make sure we spread and move some of the evil ball's food near where mom gets up in the morning cuz she usually has her eyes closed till she has her first cup of coffee. But all mom has done is to cuss a bit and the evil blue ball as well as the evil green one are still here.

Can you cats out there help us? If you have any ideas what we can do to make mom get rid of this food contraption please let us know!! Thanks!

Lazy Bones

It seems to have become a habit. At first mom thought it was just because she was so busy and/or lazy but we haven't blogged AGAIN for a whole week. After thinking about it and having a chat we decided we were ALL lazy bones and that maybe that was alright sometimes. So, we've decided that we will not feel bad if we only blog once a week for awhile.

Tommy hogging the rocky hammock and Me in my Tent napping

Next time we post we'll tell you about the evil blue ball that spits out cat food! You'd think it was something good...but we don't think so.

Embarrassed

Tommy and I are so embarrassed that we haven't blogged since last month! And it's already eight days into June. Also, a million years ago Russell tagged us to do a meme.

Tommy hiding his face in shame.

Thanks Russell. Sorry we've been so slow. Here are the rules: Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 4 or 5 cats and posts their names. Then be sure to go to the cats you tagged and let them know that you tagged them. Let the cat who tagged you know when you have posted your answers.
1. What was I doing 10 years ago?
Tommy: I'm four years old so I wasn't me 10 years ago.
Shilgiah: I'm seven years but I think maybe this is my second of 9 lives but I can't remember what I was doing 10 years ago if I had another life.

2. Five things on my to do list for today.
Tommy: Lay in my rocky thing-Push Shilgiah out of sunspot where she is napping-Nap in sunspot-slobber on my favorite old nip pillow-catch fly on the balcony.
Shilgiah: Snuggle up to mom and purr in her ear to wake her up-sit on kitchen rug and politely meow for morning treats-lay in sunspot-get pushed off of sunspot by Tommy-bite Tommy's butt fur.
3. Snacks I enjoy.
Tommy: Temptations, Whisker Lickin's, Goodlife Recipe
Shilgiah: What Tommy said plus TUNA Juice and Kitty Grass mom pots for us.
4. Things I would do if I were a billionaire.
Tommy: I'm not sure...probably buy the worlds supply of Cat Nip and share it with all my blogging friends.
Shilgiah: I would buy a huge mansion and let mom stay there (but it would be mine all mine). Then I would get all the kitties from everywhere in the world who don't have homes (or who live with mean and bad people) and bring them to the big mansion and there would be lots of wonderful kitty condos and stairs and fun things to play with and do and we'd also have all the healthy and good tasting kitty food in the world and I'd make sure we had several human maids to clean up the kitty litter and clean house so mom would have time just to play with me and Tommy. Oh, we'd also have extra staff so that all the kitties would get lots of attention and playing with...cuz I don't want to always share my mom with others. Oh, one more thing we would have a huge enclosed and safe-to-play-in back yard so we could go out and romp without worry of coyotes or other scary things.
5. Three of my bad habits.
Tommy: Biting mom when she tries to clip my nails-Biting mom when she tries to brush my fur-biting my sister's head when we wrestle.
Shilgiah: Biting my brothers butt fur-chasing my brother through the house-hiding and pouncing on my brother when he walks by.
6. Five places I have lived.
Tommy: With a man from another state who came to Albuquerque and then abandoned me in Albuquerque-In the bushes at the apartment complex after the man left-very briefly in another apartment of college boys one of whom was allergic to me-with my new sister Shilgiah and my forever mom where I live now!
Shilgiah: With a college student who moved away and left me to fend for myself-In the big park where the coyotes roamed early in the morning-then I found my forever mom and lived inside next to that park-then we moved to another place where I found my new brother Tommy.
7. Five jobs I have had.
Tommy: One very important job I have is to make my mom laugh by being such a cute big boy.
Shilgiah: My job is to ensure that mom has time to pet me and brush me and talk with me and love me because it's good for lowering blood pressure and keeping her sane in the crazy work world...at least that's what mom tells me.

O.K. I think probably everyone in the cat blogosphere has done this meme but if by chance you have not had a chance to do it, please feel free to join the fun.

Guess What!

For no reason in particular, except that she must love us a lot, mom came home with this the other day. It's a very fun rocky-tinkle ball-roller ball-gunnysack-scratchy bottomed play toy. Thanks Mom, you are the greatest!

Ah...Mom help me! I got my paw stuck!

Rockin' Tommy.

Thundering Herd of Elephants

We have had five days of Mom and it has been a wonderful time! We didn't do any projects and just had fun. Mom did her favorite thing reading. She read and read and read. Tommy and I snuggled and we all decided that it seemed right just to take a break from blogging for a few days.

When we decided to turn the computer on and see what our blogging friends were up to we were very saddened to hear that Bonnie Underfoot had died. Then, we went to Victor Tabbycat and Bonnie Underfoot's blog and read what her mom had written about the weather and hearing the thunder and that she figured that it must be Bonnie playing "Thundering Herd of Elephants" with the other kitties at the Rainbow Bridge, it made us feel happy. Tommy and I even played a game of it last night at 2:00AM in honor of Bonnie. You go girl!

We will miss you Bonnie. We are sending *hugs* to Victor and his beans.

Locked Out on the Balcony!

This is Tommy and I got locked out on the balcony! Mom had gone to get a glass of lemonade from the fridge and walked back to the balcony calling us to come in. Shilgiah came and Mom just briefly glanced out, didn't see me and thought I must have already come inside. She has to be blind as a bat! So, then she closed the door and I heard her say "Do you want treats"? Treats! She was going to give Shilgiah treats and I was stuck on the patio! Shilgiah walked toward the kitchen and then she turned around and went to the glass doors of the balcony and cried for me! I owe you big time, sis! Mom, came back into the study and saw Shilgiah making all kinds of racket and me sitting there out on the balcony looking in at Shilgiah. Mom was so upset that she didn't even bother to take a picture and she gave me extra treats for leaving me there!!

I was just taking a little nap when Mom locked me out! How could she!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there and to our mom who adopted us and takes such good care of us! Because I love my mom so much, I got her a bunch of roses that are yellow and orange. I thought they would look very nice on the table.

I promise not to nibble on the petals.

Then Tommy gave mom a silver stick with a rectangular flat thing on the bottom. It is called a Carpet Sweeper and it is a "green machine" even though it looks silver. The big plus is that Tommy absolutely hates the vvvrooom noisy machine that mom uses to clean the carpets so he thought this was the perfect solution. Mom began by using it on our little carpet on the balcony.

It works great and it's very quiet!

Mancat Monday

Hi! Tommy here. It was a pretty busy weekend of chasing my sister, monitoring the bird activity from the balcony and occasionally getting a bit of shut eye. I don't know why my mom thought it was so funny, but at one point I was grooming my handsome furs and sort of fell asleep in the middle. It was just a brief cat nap but when I opened my eyes mom had the flashy thing and was laughing at me.

How embarrassing to fall asleep mid-groom!

Seven Years in Six Words

William tagged me to do the Six Word Memoir. Thanks William! I was born seven years ago and thought and thought how I could encapsulate such a long time in six words but I finally came up with an idea. Mom came home early today. I think she came home early just so I could post my response but she says she was feeling kind of sick. I think she's feeling kind of sick of work...Hahahaha!

Anyway, here are the rules:
1) Write you own six word memoir.
2)Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you'd like.
3) Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to the original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere.
4) Tag at least five more blogs with links.
5) Don't forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.
6) Have fun!!

I thought and thought and here is my six word memoir:

Life is good to this Huntress.

I want to tag two families of cats:
Beau Beau
Angelica
Puff
Spot
Jake

Happy Dreams

Hello again friends in the blogosphere! Seems like forever since I've had a chance to post any thoughts. Mom was right, this past week was very hectic for her. But she also told us the truth and every evening she would open the door to the balcony and we would go out there and sniff the air and listen to the birds getting ready for bedtime. Out on the balcony all during the week I had lots of happy dreams.
The picture below is of me dreaming at my old place before we moved two and a half years ago to our balcony home. I sometimes really miss my old home, but now we have a wonderful balcony and I have a brother that I wouldn't have had if we hadn't moved to where we live now.

Even though I sometimes miss my old place...I'm happy now...and that is all that matters.

Tommy's Tuesday Tummy

Mom told me last night that we may not be able to post this week because her work is going to be extra hectic and busy. But she did say when she gets home in the evenings she will let us go out on the balcony.

An aerial view of Tommy's Tummy.

She who laughs last...

I absolutely love sitting inside boxes! It doesn't matter whether they are little boxes, middle sized boxes or big boxes, as long as they aren't moving boxes, I love being inside boxes. This is one of my old "box sitting" pictures cuz mom has been too lazy to take pictures lately.

It doesn't take much to make me happy!

Sunning on the Balcony

We got to spend a lot of time this weekend on the balcony and mom did a lot of reading. The balcony is totally enclosed and has a screen on the top part. Mom says that reduces the number of flying buggies that get in. What's wrong with flying buggies? I like to chase them when they sneak into the house.

Mmm...nothing better than watching birdies from the balcony!

A little rainy

It got a little rainy yesterday so mom wouldn't let us go out on the balcony like she usually does when she gets home. Just day before yesterday it was beautiful and warm. I don't understand this sudden weather change stuff. Mom says in the spring it's not unusual to have a little cold snap.

We don't mind the cold we just want to go out on our balcony!
